My date with Miss M... and 20, 000 other people
Well the last 5 days have been pretty busy for me!
Thursday i had a hakf day at work, TBS gave everyone half a day off paid to do xmas shopping, which was actually really cool and nice cause it was just my unit that got it. So i didn't actually do any xmas shopping. I did get season 7 of Family guy... though i was a bit annoyed that what they classify as a 'season' was only about 2/3rds of the season, 11 episodes. Still, it was only $35 so cant complain really. And its family guy, so its worth paying it.
That night went to dinner with the in laws at Dellissio which was really nice. They have just changed their menu and its much better now! Problem is i had a allergic reaction to something, i got really itchy and broke in all these bumps o_0
I am allergic to seafood... but didnt have any... so im not sure what caused it... hopefully im not allergic to something else now! x_x
So it wasnt too bad when i went to bed, thinking that it would probably die off over night, but lo and behold i wake up in the mornign and its worse!
So i decided to take the day off and go to the doctors. He prescribed me some anithistemines and they cleared it up, although once i took the second one it made me really sleepy. I went to sleep at 7ish and only woke up once in the night to ghet a drink then slept through till the next morning!
Saturday was nice, bummed round for awhile then went out to DFO with my mum, sister and her bf Andrew.
Andrew drove.... never doing that again. Some people need to speed up on roads... he needs to slow down, so impatient. We were in the carpark and he was just not giving other people room... really annoys me. anyways.
So yeah, i was able to finsih off my xmas shopping there, Mum and I each bought some nice bowls for my sister so she had a set of four which was good. Also got mum to get me these nice bowls as a present for me.
So i packed my bags for Sunday and stayed at Nicks so we could leave early in the morning for Sydney.
We had little problems getting the the F1 in Sydney, although we over shot the exit just before the hotel so had to a little bit of backtracking. Went and hung out in the city for awhile, met up with some friends and had something to eat at a cafe- the salad i had was actually really nice.
Had a snooze then on to Olympic park!
Safetly navigated the trains to the park and we got there by 6ish. Went and bought merch, a tour book and a t-shirt. Then hung around for awhile before the show started.
15 Mins before the show started we went to our seats... which was way up the top and to stage left, but hey I was just happy to be there! It was all very exciting.
Now comes my favourite part, Kylie's many cool outfits.
This time they were designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
She opened the show in a black gown with gold tube round the chest and neck area, she also wore some funky metal gauntlet glove things.
Next was the CHeerleader outfit... which was pink this time, instead of the blue she wore for the European leg. She had fantastic shoes in this out fit!
Next was a nautical theme and she wore a sailors uniform with sparkly theme, i was a bit dissapointed with this as she had already done a ship theme in her light years tour... anyways.
The last costume for the first act was kylie in a red "bell boy" gown... and she came on stage suspended on a big silver skull which was pretty cool.
End of Act 1
The act started off as a Japanese Manga theme, with Kylie in a weird retro theme pseudo Kimono thing and a red head piece. This was actually a cool act cause they released a whole heap of pink and white paper stuff to make ti look like cherry blossoms were floating down.
Then next axt was kylie in a blue evening gown, this was the slow part.
There were these two girls behind us who talked through that whole section... which was so increadibly annoying!
Next was Kylie in a coachman's outfit in an rennaisance theme. This was one of the bst acts, with her impromtu strip in the middle to the pants a top and some suspenders (she always has one set of suspenders in her concerts, i think she in love with them).
The encore section saw Kylie come out in black sparkly pants and a gold blingy top that has been descired as a cher like evening wear.
The concert was so much fun! I had a great time, even though we had pretty bad seat it was still good, i was just happy to be there! About the only dissapointing act was the nautical one, which lost a bit of energy. the Had 6 video curtains on the stage which were really fantastic. They could move around the stage and were realyl clear and precise. The stage floor could also be projected on. It was actually a pretty simplistic stage, there wasnt a permanent construct like in previous shows, the sets created mainly by the video cutains which could make practically anything. There was some props, but most of the time it was pretty simplistic.
It went for ages, with Kylie doig mulitple encore songs which was great, really got our money worths! We got out of there at 11, but the cause we had to catch the train back to the city it took ages to get back. We ended getting to Central and then catching a taxi back to the hotel. Got back about 12pm.
We drove back Monday morning and i just bummed around the house for the rest of the day. Which was nice to realx before i had to go back to work
So a good trip was had by all. I was glad i could go and i reckon ill go to the next tour she brings to Aus, although im gonna get better seats this time!

From the makers of Xena, I present....
Legends of the Seeker
I just downloaded the first 3 episodes of this show last night. Its broadcasting in America atm so im gonna try and keep up with it.
So basically this show is a fantasy series based on Terry Goodkinds novels- Tales of the Sword. At least the first series is based off the first book- Wizards First rule.
Its made by the people who did Xena and Hercules.
Basic storyline is pretty standard, Boy is child of Prophecy, tasked with defeating evil lord... helped by random chick from an ancient order of women sworn to seek out the truth and protect the prophesised boy... who likes to fight in a white dress with long sleves and must surely get in the way... also it is uber clevage showing... anyways and by knowledgable wizard, Zul Zurakal-something or other who likes to be naked....
He has a magical sword that once he picks up knows how to use without any prior training, and a book of knowledge that cant fall into the evil lords hands as he'll use the power to control the world... blah blah blah....
Has to battle through hordes of soldeirs, wizards and random dark creatures...
You get the gist of it.
SO
First impressions-
The first episode- which was actually episode one and two combined... so it went for like an hour and a half.... it wasnt too bad... not fantastic.. but not horrible either... you could tell that it was directed by the same guys as Xena. Its not quite as humourous in that the acting is terrible and the jokes are stupid and badly written... its a bit more serious. The main character is actually pretty hot... he's randomyl introduced building a small bridge over a river... shirtless obviously... nice bod though, very well defined.. *drools*
*ahem*
Anyways... so far the other actors are alright, the chick.. who will more than likely turn out to be the love interest is pretty, but not overly pretty... and as pretty as her dress is she shouldnt wear it as it really would just get in the way of all her fighting. Her acitng is ok, there are times when its a little flat, but at least she doesnt have an annoying voice like a certain blonde pseudo lesbian storyteller sidekick.... *cough cough*
And wizard... who is introduced standing naked in the moonlight and possibly violating a chicken is not too bad either... i've seen the actor in something before.... but not sure what...
The evil lord looks a greasy wog... and considering he's supposed to have been around for awhile he looks just a bit too young to really be an effective evil dude... im sure they cast him becuase he's meant to be the good guys evil counterpart... but it didnt work for me... and he just doesnt look evil enough... more slightly emo... im sure if they have a musical episode he will head bangong to some random emo band (I can't actually think of any band names right now... i don't listen to the stuff.. not my thing)
So yeah... its not fantasticly mind blowing... but its worth a wath if you think you might enjoy it....

Things i do on the net
Well i thought that i shopuld write something, anything on here... so i thouth i would tell you about my daily routine on the internet, i dunno why, just will.
There a 3 or 4 main sights that i usually frequent- Facebook- I practically live on it at work... cause its the only thing that keeps me from shooting my clients.
www.explosm.net
The main reason for this website is to read cyanide and happiness, probably one of the funniest web comics out there. Its updated everynight and the writers are very witty. ALthough it is based around black humour- death, rape, sodomy and the likes (not all of it though, just a good %). Its still worth a read. You dont have to have been reading it from the start like other comics which makes it very accesable to new readers.
The web site also contains reviews and thoughts from the writers, although these are few and far between they are usually quite funny. Reading a 2-part 5 page each review of one horribbly bad movie, all with pictures certainly kept me going one week at work. There are some short anuimations, my favourite being noodles. Merchandise is also available through for the diehard fans.
next in the agenda is another webcomic- Dr. Mc Ninja
I love this comic... its stupid, but very funny if you like the dry wit style and bad pop cuture references.
Basically the story is outlined as this- he's a doctor who comes from a long line of irish ninjas- the McNinjas. He lives somewhere in America- ive forgotten the location exactly and works in his own clinic with his recpetionist Judy, who happens to be a gorilla. He also a sidekick- Gorditto who rides a raptor- Yoshi.
This comic is updated in America On Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays, so in Aus i get on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, usually mid afternoon.
Consistency wise it is not always published on time or may skip a few days, but as this is done on semi-professionaly i think its forgivable, the two guys who do this do have other things going on in their lives.
Art wise it's pretty consistent, it started off in black and white but with the latest story arc it has moved to colour and is well done.
I would recomend this comic to people who like adult swim and all that funky stuff, and things like robot chicken.
and last but not least is www.onemanga.com
This is probably the best website ive come across so far for up to date manga translations.
WIth a huge database of old and new mangas that people have dutifully taken the original source, scanned and translated to english for the die hard fans who cant wait the months inbettween official releases of paperbacks.
Mangas such as naruto, onepiece, bleach and all that are published weekly, usually one a friday arvo, its great to wittle away those slow end of week arvos.
I persoanlyl follow two mangas avidly- tsubasa and Negima, both of which i still buy the english paperbacks of. I even have a tsubasa tattoo on my back... so you can imagine how big a fan i am.
Well there you have it.. i guess if youre a big comic reader, then this might help you out with some new info if you didnt know about it... especially you narutards

To start off, thank god it's friday, i'm so glad its the weekend tomorrow.
Although I'm hoping Monday comes soon, I have a job interview with a Govt Agency for a good position, and if i get it i'll be overjoyed! It excedes what I was aiming for by the end of the year, so that would be excellent.
Christmas is coming up soon... so im trying to figure out what to by the family, I just have no idea what to get some of them.... I know what I'm getting mum- one of those health smart grills thingy.. like a george foreman but not as expensive. And im buying my partner tickets to the big theme parks up on the gold coast for our holiday afte xmas, but my brothers and their wives... no ideas, i was gonna buy my eldest brother this keyboard bag thingy for his LAN games, but i have to order it from the US and with the shitty exchange its just gonna be way too expensive.. might have to check out ebay.. maybe see if i can pick one up cheap... hmmm.
And still no ideas for my sister as well...sigh
Im doing combined presents again this year.... so no need to try and figure out what to get my sisters in-laws/ sisters bf.
Hmm i wonder if i should get my partners parents a gift... :S
But on brighter news i know what nick is getting me- a cherry red 8gb nano ipod! I asked for it, and i specified the colour.. yay!
I already have an ipod... but its only 4gb and i max it out... so time to upgrade to a new one! and theyre the new model so ill be happy with that!

New Project
Well im starting a new project.
I havnt done some creative writing in awhile and the idea has been swimming in my mind for awhile.
So far I've done one introductory post on the site but it would be cool if you could check it out. I'll probably do a couple more posts today for the other two characters.
check it out at:
http://tomasrichardharriet.blogspot.com/
It's hard to explain what it's going to end up as, but i'm aiming for a style of snap shots into the three characters lives. You'll have to read it to find out!

Flying high in a tent
Went to see Cirque Du Soleil last night, saw Dralion. was pretty awesome. There were three acts that really impressed me- the DAnce on lightbulbs, the tissue and the swings. I saw Varekai when it in Aus a little while ago. I think it was better than Dralion. The inclusion of a story line in Varekai added something to the atmosphere of the whole performance. Dralion was more like anexploration of a theme- that being a fusion of eastern and african culture. This was expressed through the four elements- Earth, fire, air and water.
That being said Dralion was still an excellent experience. I thourghly enjoyed it.

The joys of HTML
So new blog design.

I want to make the text scrool over the background, but cant remember how to do this... hmmm

humm dinger
You know that feeling of almost timeless-ness, between awake and asleep.... I have that now... i'm sitting at my desk in my office trying to not to fall asleep. It would be inevitable that someone would walk in and see me drooling on the keyboard.

First Post
Well this is m first post, so i guess i had better post something about myself.
Ive had one or two blogs before- on other sites, but i thought i would make a fresh start here.
So you may want to know a bit about me i guess.
My name is Nathan, i have 2 nicknames from different times in my life- Na-chan (from my college days) and Naytan (from my church days)
Well I'm 21, live in Canberra, Australia and work for the Federal Govt. booking conference rooms and filling up water jugs.
I'm short of stature and have great blue eyes, probably my best feature.
I have eclectic tastes.
Music wise i listen to pop music mainly, but i also venture into a bt of dance music, one of my favourite bands being Goldfrapp. My CD rack also includes musicals, opera and Japanese pop/rock. I also like some alternative stuff like Franz Ferdinand, MIA and The Music.
Litrature wise I'm a bit of a bookworm.
I read heaps of fantasy, my favourite authors being Robin Hobb, especially her live ship traders series. Raymond E. Fiest, Robert Jordan, Jennifer Fallon and all those high fantasy novels.
I have also come to be fond of the Tales of the City series by Armistead Maupin. Holding the Man is another fav of mine.
I also read comics. I have some weird affinity with fantasy shoujo mangas, especially Clamp. Tsubasa is probably my fav, but i also keep up with Negima and Gakuen Alice.
Teen titans is probably my fav western comic, but x-men is also a good read too.
I'm not much of a movie person, and usually find them a bit boring unless they're good quality. I'm more of a series person- especially cartoons. I like family guy, american dad, futurama, the simpsons... the usuals. I also love anime (mainly the old stuff) and cartoons like Kim Possible. I've been getting into Heroes lately, thats pretty fun.
I have two older brothers, both married and a younger sister. I live with my Mum, sister and a border friend of Mums. I dont spend a great amount of time there... i spend most of it at my partners house, who im pretty cray over, ha ha.
Well I imagine that this blog will probably be used to publish a lot of random crap that i find on the net, in life, and all that stuff. Maybe some personal views, and probably a whole load of badly taken photos of stupid things i do... and dress ups i do.
